Bank of Ceylon opens Badalgama branch, delivering modern banking services

The Bank of Ceylon (BOC) recently opened its Badalgama branch, yet another step towards delivering a modern banking experience and efficient service to customers.

The new branch strengthens the Bank’s extensive network over 660 branches and more than 2,400 customer service centers across the island. Through this network, customers are able to seamlessly carry out banking transactions with any part of the country, enhancing convenience and accessibility.

The Badalgama branch offers a comprehensive range of financial services tailored to meet diverse customer needs. These include savings accounts, fixed deposits, investment plans, housing and personal loans, education loans, leasing facilities, and pawning services, along with a range of specialized loan offerings.

Customers can also access a full suite of banking services at the branch, including debit and credit card facilities, international money transfers, and remittance services, enabling both local and global financial transactions.

The event was graced by the Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister Finance and Planning, Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando, as Chief Guest. Also in attendance were Chairman of the Divulapitiya Pradeshiya Sabha M.J. Vikumthilaka, Divisional Secretary of Divulapitiya Manel Kumari, Chairman of Bank of Ceylon Kavinda de Zoysa, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Y.A. Jayathilaka, Acting Chief Operating Officer R.M.N. Jeewantha, Deputy General Manager (Branch Operations) Priyal Silva, Chief Marketing Officer Sameera Liyanage, Assistant General Manager (Marketing) Buddhika Premaratne, and Assistant General Manager (Western Province North) Sudath Liyanage. Members of the Bank’s senior management, branch staff, customers, and other invited guests were also present.

In conjunction with the branch opening, students who achieved top grades at the GCE Advanced Level Examination were recognised and awarded in appreciation of their academic excellence. Among the recipients was W.P. Nethmi Kaveesha of Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya, Gampaha.

The Bank of Ceylon continues to introduce a range of innovative solutions. These include the BOC Flex Mobile Banking App, Smart Online Banking, BOC Smart Passbook, e-commerce-enabled debit and credit cards, and online payment systems. Customers are also able to open accounts and apply for personal or housing loans online, providing greater flexibility and convenience in managing their financial needs.

Through the opening of the Badalgama branch and the continued rollout of digital banking solutions, the Bank of Ceylon aims to further strengthen its service delivery and improve accessibility for customers across the country.
